Appointment Arrival Window

At Lulu’s Mobile Dog Grooming, we strive to arrive as close to your scheduled appointment time as possible. However, for the safety and well-being of all pets in our care—and to ensure our groomer is never rushed or put at risk—there may be delays. You will be notified by call or message if there are any changes to your estimated arrival time. Please allow a one-hour window before or after your scheduled appointment. For example, if your appointment is set for 3:00 PM, arrival may occur between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

Cancellations & No-Show Policy

We kindly ask that cancellations be made at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, a $30.00 cancellation fee per dog may apply.

In the case of a no-show—where the groomer arrives for a confirmed appointment and no one is present to hand over the dog—a trip fee will be invoiced. This fee is 75% of the total grooming cost per dog.

 

Additional Service Charges

Lulu’s Mobile Dog Grooming may apply extra fees for services that go beyond our standard grooming rates.

These charges could be applied to: difficult or aggressive behaviour, special handling (often with senior dogs and wiggly dogs), extended grooming time, etc,

 

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to deny service to any client if the dog poses a risk to our staff. This includes aggression, health issues, parasites, or lice.

If your pet brings fleas or lice into the van, a $50.00 fumigation fee will be charged to cover the cost of disinfecting the unit. This is necessary to protect the health of other dogs. In this case, you will still be responsible for the full grooming fee as the appointment slot was held for your pet.

 

Shave Downs & Matted Coats

Shaving a dog, especially one with matting, may reveal hidden skin issues caused by lack of airflow and grooming. When mats are removed, pre-existing skin problems often come to light.

Removing mats can also cause minor skin irritation since the groomer must work under the mats. Shave downs are only done with your permission and require a signed waiver.

Additional fees apply for this service due to the extra time, tools, and care required. These charges start at $10 and increase depending on the dog’s size and how severe the matting is.

 

Skin Irritation or Accidents

You understand that lack of coat maintenance may cause post-grooming issues such as clipper burn or irritation. Dogs that move excessively during grooming are also at risk for minor injuries like nicks or scrapes.

 

Double-Coated Breeds

We do not shave double-coated dogs unless recommended by a veterinarian or if matting makes it unavoidable. Shaving these breeds can lead to serious health issues like sunburn, heatstroke, and windburn. Instead, we offer de-shedding services using specialty shampoos and tools to remove the dead undercoat properly.

 

Biting Policy

If your dog bites the groomer, a $20.00 fee per wound will be applied, as recommended by the Professional Pet Groomers Association of Manitoba (PPGAM). Since groomers rely on their hands to work, injuries could affect their ability to continue grooming. Please inform us ahead of time if your pet has a history of biting, so we can take appropriate safety measures.

 

Options for Matted Coats

If your dog is matted, you have three choices:

    1.    Brush out the coat yourself and reschedule the appointment.

    2.    Allow us to de-matt your dog at $1 per minute, up to 20 minutes, in addition to the grooming fee—only if it doesn’t overly stress your pet.

    3.    Request a full shave down. Extra fees may apply depending on the condition of the coat.

 

Service Refusal & Safety Measures

Lulu’s Mobile Dog Grooming retains the right to refuse service for any reason. If at any point a dog cannot be groomed safely, tools such as muzzles, slings, or straps may be used. Grooming may be halted mid-session if safety becomes a concern. Applicable grooming fees may still be charged.

 

Abandoned Pets

Pets cannot be left unattended in our grooming van. You agree to be available when your dog is ready to be returned or to arrange someone else to receive them. If the groomer must wait, a fee of $1 per minute may apply.

 

Your Responsibility to Disclose

You agree to fully and continually inform Lulu’s Mobile Dog Grooming of any medical issues, behavior traits, or other concerns that may affect your pet’s grooming experience.
